SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE

TESTIMONIAL OF A 30-YEAR VETERAN INSTALLER

“As an installer, it’s rewarding when elated station owners tell me how MDI’s cladding transformed their site into a showplace.

Definitely, MDI’s cladding is architecturally sharp. But, from my vantage, MDI’s cladding design is also a very strong, forgiving, easy-to-transport system. It goes up much faster and easier than I ever expected. And MDI’s field engineer made it his business to be on site for our first installation – from start to finish.

MDI’s system is the next generation in cladding. A major departure from the large bulky metal clamping half-round systems, which are heavy to transport, require big trucks, forklifts, brute strength and incredible installation precision.

Easy to transport. MDI’s system ships flat and the panels [coextruded copolymer] are much lighter. I can load enough cladding for several stations in a pick-up truck.

Easy and forgiving to install. MDI’s system adjusts to alleviate obstacles, yet stays centered. It’s componentized design enables a lot of ground pre-assembly, reducing ladder time. Just follow the instructions: snap lines; measure; drill in the brackets; pop in the panels and pegs; then finish with the flag brackets and trim.

Strong. Recently, a motorist took out a dispenser, seriously bent the nearby support column and dented the second column. I got the repair call. Though the first pole was bent, it remained structurally intact. At minimal cost [on the first pole], we readjusted the brackets and replaced the lower column panels. The second column repair was even easier. Popped out the crease, and wiped off the bumper mark. Good as new.

I’m sold on MDI’s column cladding system – and support.”
